Many BMV offices let you get in line before you arrive, saving you time in the lobby. Here’s how to take advantage of those tools. DMVQ is an independent informational resource and does not operate queueing systems.
How to get started
- Go to the Ohio BMV website or your local office’s page.
- Pick the office and service from the locator or scheduling tool.
- Confirm the address, timing, and arrival instructions.
- Keep your phone handy for text updates.
- Bring what you’ll need, including accepted payment.

Queueing vs. appointments
Remote queueing usually means you’re joining a same-day line, not reserving a fixed time slot. Skills tests, road tests, and other exams may use a separate scheduling system.
Good to know
DMVQ can’t check live wait times, change your queue position, or confirm whether a specific office is accepting walk-ins. Check with your local office or the state portal for those details.
